Java Developer
Do you want to develop exciting software solutions for international clients while collaborating with some of the most skilled developers in Odense within Java, Spring Boot, and AWS? If so, this is your chance!
Shape the Future of Automotive IT Solutions
We are a global company specializing in online car auctions and IT solutions for the automotive industry. Our roadmap is packed with tasks, and our existing solutions need to be future-proofed to accommodate a rapidly growing number of customers. We are looking for a talented Java Software Developer to enhance our current applications and contribute to the development of innovative new solutions.
About Us
Our software development teams work in autonomous, agile teams that take full ownership of their products and continuously push our solutions forward. We are the caretakers of systems that have been developed and expanded over many years. These are large, complex platforms that carry decades of business knowledge and customer needs.
We are on a journey to simplify and reshape these systems. The work is challenging, but that is exactly what makes it exciting. We take something powerful and complex and refine it step by step, turning it into something sharper, cleaner, and ready for the future.
We build our software and infrastructure using AWS and Spring to ensure a modern and reliable technology foundation. Our backend is primarily Java, supported by frameworks and tools such as Spring Framework, JSP, JavaScript, Maven, Oracle, Git, and several others that help us deliver stable and scalable solutions.
Our three main product lines are:
Autorola Solutions: Software for large fleet owners, including leasing companies, banks, and rental firms, focusing on configurable workflows and automated processes.
INDICATA: Big Data solutions for optimizing used car inventory and valuation, handling massive amounts of data.
Autorola Marketplace: Auction platforms for used cars, designed for performance and high availability.
Your Role
As a backend developer in Autorola Solutions, you will join our platform team that strengthens the technical foundation of Fleet Monitor and accelerates how quickly we deliver value to customers.
The team evolves our architecture, tools, and underlying systems so developers across the platform can build, test, and release software with less friction. Your work ensures that engineers spend their time creating real business value instead of fighting technical barriers. We measure our success by how effectively we enable others to move with speed, confidence, and quality.
You will be part of a software department with ten developers, four Quality Assurance Engineers, and three Product Owners, all working together to build strong, scalable systems that are ready for the future.
Within your team, you will engage in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)—from technical analysis, design, and development to code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and release management.
Your Daily Tasks Will Include:
Developing web applications in Java
Participating in knowledge-sharing and reviewing colleagues’ work
Taking part in SAFe and Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and PI planning sessions
Your Profile
The most important thing for us is that you are passionate about coding and eager to dive into our many applications and complex platforms. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who:
Have a relevant educational background (e.g., computer science, software engineering, or similar)
Are curious, stay up to date with industry trends, and enjoy learning new technologies
Are proficient in both written and spoken English
Thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments
Actively seek guidance and knowledge-sharing while also supporting others
What We Offer
You will join a global company with over 900 employees and subsidiaries in 20 countries across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. We strive to ensure a great work-life balance with flexible working hours.
In our development department, you will work with a diverse team ranging in age from 25 to 50, from recent graduates to highly experienced developers. Our team is highly professional and eager to share knowledge, ensuring you receive a thorough introduction to the applications you will be working with.
Our department is structured into smaller, autonomous teams, allowing for close collaboration with the Product Owner and Product Manager, who oversee the roadmap and prioritization. At Autorola, decisions are made quickly, giving you significant freedom in how you approach and solve tasks. Additionally, our Group IT department manages operations and monitoring, so you can focus entirely on development.
We offer a 37-hour work week with flexible hours, providing an excellent opportunity to balance family life and leisure. Our office is conveniently located near the train station in Odense, featuring an open office layout with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We also offer various company events, excellent lunch, a pension scheme, health insurance, and an in-house fitness room. And to wrap up the week, we enjoy socializing at our Friday bar in the basement.
Join Us and Shape the Future!
We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, so if you see yourself thriving in this role, we look forward to receiving your application.
Please note that the description above outlines the ideal candidate profile, but we strongly believe in inclusion and diversity. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the listed requirements.
Also note that response times may be longer than usual as we approach the holiday season. We appreciate your patience and will get back to you as soon as possible. We expect to arrange interviews in the beginning of January.
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and we reserve the right to close the job posting once we find the right candidate.
